Its a girl!!!

For the last five months or so, I’ve had to keep a secret. At an early sonogram, I really wanted to know the gender of our baby, but Amanda did not. So we compromised and I found out while she did not. However, this knowledge came with a stipulation. I had to promise that I would tell no one until the day our baby was born.

On April 14th, at 11:10pm, I had the privilege of telling my secret to the whole world. “It’s a girl!!” A beautiful, precious, wonderful, baby girl! Her name is Abigail Joy and I can’t wait for you to meet her.

YMI Update

YouthFront Mission Institute (YMI) is becoming more known every day. We have been getting many emails from youth workers and students interested in the program. There are even some applications coming in!

Interestingly, most of the applicants have been guys. Pray that this trend continues and that God would bring some girls as well. We want to have a total of 20 students committed to the program this fall, approximately half men, half women.

Bigger or Better

This month we played bigger or better at our Club121 in Louisburg. In case you didn't know, bigger or better is a game played by many youthgroups, where they are divided up into groups given a paper clip and told walk through area neighborhoods and ask to trade for something bigger or better. This year we were given $160 motorcycle mirrors, a computer moniter and printer, a desk, a TV and several other miscellaneous items. Most of the items were junk, but it was fun anyway. April Prayer Requests

Family — Pray for us and our new addition to the family. Pray that Abigail would remain healthy and happy. Also, pray that we would be good parents who know how to love and bless a newborn.

Club 121 — Pray that students would hear and follow the call of Christ in their lives. Pray that God would build many of the Club121 students into spiritual leaders on their campuses.

Camp — Camp is weeks away. We are almost completely done with hiring our cabin leaders. Pray for the final few applicants, that we would know who should and should not be hired. Also, pray that the students who are coming this summer would be prepared for God to move in their lives. Pray that they would be ready for ministry.

YMI — (YouthFront Mission Institute) Pray that the word would continue to get out about YMI. There are still many who are not aware of this unique program. Pray that the right students would apply, and that God would grant us wisdom as we accept people into the program. Pray also for curriculum development. We want the curriculum to allow people to engage in their relationship with God through many avenues and to inspire them to lay down their lives for the sake of God and others. Pray we will know how to help them move past intellectual ascent to true transformation. Also, pray that we would find another female staff person to assist in discipling women
